About 15 thousand children marked the 2019 Olympic Day in Kosovo, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj joined in the run as well
25 Kosovo municipalities marked the 2019 Olympic Day on Monday, attended by about 15,000 children born on the Independence Year of Kosovo (2008).
The main activity was held in Pristina, which was attended by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, who joined in the run , while Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, attended the opening of the Olympic Day in Ferizaj.
The Olympic Day was celebrated under the 27th anniversary of the foundation of the Kosovo Olympic Committee (May 27, 1992).
The President of NOC, Besim Hasani, congratulated the children for the massive participation year after year.
“Children of Prishtina, you were only four years when, in 2012, you joined in for the first time and today there are about 15 thousand of you who have ran all across Kosovo. Congratulations to all of you,” said President Hasani.
The Director of the Department of Sport in MCYS, Ibër Alaj, congratulated the Olympic Committee for such an organisation, whereas he addressed the kids with the message to be active in sports.
On behalf of Prishtina municipality, director of Sports, Fitim Rexha, told the children “You are the rise of our Independence and because of you the Independence of Kosovo is growing stronger each year.”
The children of all municipalities were given sports shirts, medals of participation, also ones for the three first places.
