5,000 children marked the celebrations of Olympic Day in Kosovo
Around 5,000 children celebrated Olympic Day 2018 in Kosovo last week. It was a special event, as all the children who participated on celebrations were born in Kosovo’s Independence Year - 2008. They ran in their respective city centers.
For the first time, Kosovo Olympic Committee organized this traditional event in seven different Kosovo cities: Pristina, Gjilan, Gjakova, Prizren, Mitrovica, Peja and Ferizaj.
The main activity was organized in capital city of Kosovo, Pristina, with more than 2500 children.
The President of Kosovo Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani said that this is the seventh edition of Olympic Day organized in Kosovo with children who were born in Kosovo’s Independence Year. “You will run all your life”, said Hasani.
The event in Pristina also marked the first activities of Kosovo Modern Pentathlon Federation, where hundreds of children practiced this sport in Laser-Run discipline.
Fourth time participant of Olympic Games, Latvian Deniss Čerkovskis, was one of the trainers on this event.
Olympic Day was organized on 25 May 2018 in honor of NOC Kosovo founding on 27 May 1992.
