Besim Aliti appointed new secretary general of Kosovo Olympic Committee
Besim Aliti has been appointed as the new secretary general of the Kosovo Olympic Committee.
Aliti’s appointment was proposed by the President of NOC Kosovo, Ismet Krasniqi, who elected the new President on the General Assembly, held on 25th of March 2021.
Aliti, 32 years old, was voted unanimously by the Executive Board at a meeting on 01 September 2021.
He has experience in the International Sport Management such as: European University Sports Association as Sports Manager, European Karate Championships Porec 2021 as executive director, European Universities Games 2016 as director of operations, FIBA Eurobasket 2015 as Deputy Competition Manager, Baku 2015 European Games as venue operations Manager etc.
Besim Aliti is an external lecturer at the University of Zagreb (sports management) and has lectured at many Universities and international forums such as in Malaga, Belgrade, Prague, Rome, etc.
He speaks five languages and comes from the sport of karate, where he was a professional karate athlete of the Croatian National Team (2010-2013).
The new secretary general replaces Shasivar Haxhijaj, who was in this role since 201
